Event overview
The Blazin’ Battle Against Brain Cancer is scheduled for May 17, 2026. The event offers four distances:

It is held in memory of a Providence firefighter who was diagnosed with glioblastoma in January 2022. Proceeds benefit the Rhode Island Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation to support individuals and families affected by brain and spine tumors through education, spiritual and financial support, and assistance for research.
Location and registration
The in-person event takes place at Deerfield Park, Lisa Ann Circle, Greenville, RI 02828. Entry fees listed on the event page are $40 for the 10k, $30 for the 5k, and $40 for each virtual event. Prices for the in-person events increase after December 31, 2025. Virtual registration remains open through May 17, 2026. Bib pickup is scheduled at Deerfield Park on the event day; participants are asked to bring a QR code for check-in. Dogs and strollers are precluded from participating.
Awards and fundraising
Awards include top three overall male and female for both the 5k and 10k, plus first-place age group awards for male and female in multiple age brackets from youth through 90+.
