Blackwater Marathon

Blackwater Marathon 2025, the 25th edition, is staged from Drapers Farm Sports Club in Heybridge, Essex. This circular event on the north side of the River Blackwater estuary uses cross‑country footpaths and sections of seawall. Choices are 26.5 miles or 18 miles, with age restrictions: 26.5 miles for 18+, 18 miles for 14+.

The long route has three checkpoints; the shorter route has two. It forms part of the Essex & Herts Triple Challenge with the Herts Hobble and Essex Walker. Entry includes start refreshments, snacks at checkpoints, a light finish meal, and a finish certificate; parking is at Maldon Rugby Club car park.
