Blacka Moor Chase
Blacka Moor Chase is a fell and trail race organised by Totley AC, held on 16 July 2026 with the start and finish at the Totley AC pavilion on the cricket pitch (Lane Head Road, Totley, Sheffield S17 3AZ). It is the fourth race in the annual Totley AC series of five events.
The route is approximately 6.7 km with about 270 m of climb. The course leaves the field onto a roughly 1 km tarmac stretch along Strawberry Lee Lane, then climbs onto the fell and across fields over Totley Moor to the top of Blacka Moor Woods. The route descends on technical paths and tracks down the steep Piper Gate, passes stepping stones, and returns along Strawberry Lee Lane to the cricket pitch. Exposed tree roots are present on paths through Blacka Moor wood. The route is entirely on public rights of way and does not cross the surrounding main road.
Entry is limited to 250 runners. Entry options include pre entry or entry on the day if places remain; pre entry fee is £8. Minimum age is 16 when signed in by an adult. Facilities at the pavilion include toilets, showers and changing rooms; water is provided but runners are asked to bring their own cup or bottle. Parking is very limited and alternative travel, car sharing or bus travel is encouraged. The 97 bus stops about a five minute walk from the start.
The race is a fixed route under license and checkpoints are marked on the map, with marshals provided where possible. Runners must follow the indicated route and pass checkpoints in sequence. FRA Best Practice kit is recommended and mandatory kit may be required depending on weather; kit inspections can be performed and failure to carry required kit may lead to disqualification. Race numbers must be clearly visible on the chest. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
