Blacka Moor Chase

The Blacka Moor Chase is a fell race that starts and finishes at the Totley AC pavilion on the playing field behind the Cricket Inn near Totley, Sheffield. The course runs for approximately 6.7 km and includes about 270 m of climb. It is the fourth race in the Totley AC series of five races.

The route is entirely on public rights of way. It begins with a lap of the field and a roughly 1 km tarmac section along Strawberry Lee Lane, then climbs onto Totley Moor and across fields to Blacka Moor Woods. The return includes technical descents down the steep Piper Gate, sections with exposed tree roots, stepping stones, and a final return along Strawberry Lee Lane back to the pavilion. The moorland is self contained and no main road crossings are required on the route.

There is an entry limit of 250. Pre entry is required and the standard pre entry fee is £8. The race holds a Permit and carries UK Athletics insurance via the FRA. Runners may be required to carry FRA best practice kit depending on weather; mandatory kit inspections may be performed on the day. Facilities at the pavilion include toilets, showers and changing rooms; water is available but runners are asked to bring their own cup or bottle. Limited parking is available and participants are asked to consider car sharing and alternative travel.

Prizes are awarded for overall top finishers and for specified age categories, with additional spot prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
