About the race
The Black Oak Challenge is an inaugural community running event held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Westside Pavilion in Tuolumne, California (17807 Tuolumne Rd, Tuolumne, CA 95379). The event includes a timed 5K Adventure Challenge with multiple obstacles and physical challenges designed along the course. The event emphasizes teamwork and mutual assistance; participants are encouraged to help one another through the course.
A Kid Family Fun Run offers a shorter, playful course for children with water obstacles and optional extensions up to one mile. Every participant receives an official Black Oak Challenge headband. Participants who complete the timed 5K receive a commemorative finisher medal.
Registration for both events opens July 15, 2026 and closes August 16, 2026. Listed registration fees are $60.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the Kid Family Fun Run.
Sponsorship opportunities are available with tiered options and visibility at event locations. Example sponsorship tiers include a Gold Sponsor level with banner placement at the Start/Finish area and a Silver Sponsor level with banner placement near the family run field. An Obstacle Sponsor option supports individual obstacle stations with signage or banners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
