Black Mountain Trail Races 50K/25K/Half Marathon
Black Mountain Trail Races take place at Black Mountain in San Diego, California on June 20, 2026. The event offers trail distances of 50K, 25K, and a half marathon. Registration opens March 1, 2026.
The race includes organized aid stations that are staffed by ham radio experts who relay runner and aid station information to race headquarters. The event follows Trail Sisters guidelines and is part of the SoCal UltraRunner's Grand Prix. Sponsors and supporting organizations include San Diego Ultra Running Friends, Milestone Running San Diego, Injinji Toe Socks, UltraBuds Run Club, SD Trail Runners, and the National Emergency Wildland Service Institute. The San Diego Ham Radio Community supports the race.
The organizers provide a land acknowledgement noting that Black Mountain is the place of the Kumeyaay People and that the area has been their home for thousands of years. The event states a goal of creating a safe space for racing and explicitly welcomes female-identifying athletes, BIPOC athletes, LGBTQ+ athletes, and athletes with disabilities.
