Event Overview
The Black Diamond returns for its second edition on April 18, 2026. This year, the event moves to a new location at Rose Rudman Park in Tyler, Texas. The race is open to both runners and walkers, and the organizer does not enforce strict cut-off times, allowing participants ample opportunity to complete their chosen course.
Participants in timed events can access chip-timed results for the longer distances. Competitive runners should position themselves at the front of the starting group as the race is gun-timed. Multiple distances are available to accommodate different preferences:
- Half-Marathon (4 laps)
- 10K (2 laps)
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash (100-200 meters)
- Virtual Option
Participation Details
Registered participants for the 5K, 10K, Half-Marathon, and 1 Mile receive an event-themed t-shirt and a custom five-inch finisher medal. The Kid's Dash is a free short sprint for children, with the option to purchase a t-shirt and medal as add-ons.
Awards are presented at the event for the top four finishers in various age divisions for the 5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon. Recognition is also given to overall winners, Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (60+). The 1 Mile event is untimed and does not include age group awards. All awards must be collected on-site as they are not shipped after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
