Black Cat Chase 3K
The Black Cat Chase 3K is a Halloween-themed community race in Downtown Frankfort presented by Frankfort Regional Medical Center. The event features music, costuming, a Thriller Parade dance element, and a performance by the Franklin County High School marching band. The start and finish are located in front of the Old Capitol lawn.

- Virtual 3K (3 km) virtual entry; virtual times may be uploaded between October 18 and October 23, 2026
The route has been condensed for 2026 because of road and bridge construction; the revised course avoids crossing Capitol Avenue and circling the state capitol. Electronic chip timing will be used for official results, and participants may opt to receive results by text message or email after finishing. Virtual participants are not eligible for race awards.
Awards are planned for the top five overall male and female finishers, the top three in each age division, and the top three teams (teams must have at least five runners). Additional awards include school prizes, best group costumes, and other community recognitions. Age divisions range from 10 and under through 80 plus.
Registration fee tiers by date are provided, and proceeds benefit the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign to support local children and families in financial need. A limited inventory of glow-in-the-dark race shirts will be available, with an exchange option while supplies last. Packet pickup occurs in the days before the race at Prevention Park YMCA and on race day in Downtown Frankfort. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
