About the race
Birchwood 5k + Costume Run is a community running event held at South Mastick Picnic Area in Fairview Park, Ohio. The event is open to all ages and abilities and features costume guidelines for safety: masks should not be worn during the race and costumes must be school appropriate.

- 3.1 miles Birchwood 5k Run
- 1 mile 1-Mile Walk
- 1/4 mile Seedlings & Sprouts Shuffle for children 5 and under
The Seedlings & Sprouts Shuffle is for preschool age children; parents and siblings may accompany or cheer the young participants. Seedlings and Sprouts receive automatic registration for the 5k or 1-mile walk; registrants are asked not to register a child for multiple events.
Each registrant will receive an official Birchwood School of Hawken event T-shirt, though shirts are not guaranteed if ordered after October 21. Additional items include finish line goodies, opportunities for prizes and awards, and an award for Best Costume. Race awards are given to top male and female overall and in age groups: 9 and under, 10 to 14, 15 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, and 50 and over.
A family discount applies: four or more registrations receive a $5 reduction to the family's entire registration total. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
