The route profile is mostly flat. From the start to about 4 km the course uses fully closed roads; after this point roads are either semi closed or subject to traffic restrictions. Minimum age on race day is 15 years. Entry is online only via Nifty Entries. The standard entry fee is held at £26 with an early entry price of £22 before 1 April 2026 and a further £2 discount for runners registered with a UK Athletics home country organisation. The field is limited to 1000 runners; entries close at midday on Saturday 22 August 2026 or when the limit is reached. Refunds are not offered but transfers to another runner are permitted via the entry system.
Race HQ is near the car park and the shopping centre. Portable toilets and shopping centre toilet facilities are available. There is no facility to store bags or valuables. The event offers an extensive prize list across age categories and club team prizes, and finishers receive a towel as a memento. The organisers support The Mersey Forest tree planting campaign and aim to reduce waste and recycle plastics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
