Bike Low Carbon Race Ticknock
Bike Low Carbon Race Ticknock is scheduled for Saturday 15 August 2026 in County Dublin. The event is a marked trail race with significant singletrack sections and a reported climb of about 330 m over the course.
Distances:
- 7.70 km - main course, approx 330 m climb
- 4.00 km - junior course using the first 2 km of the out and back
The route starts behind the Blue Light pub near a small quarry, follows singletrack toward the masts area, climbs to Fairy Castle via a tractor path, moves off Fairy toward the WW into forest, returns over the tractor path to complete a loop, and then returns toward the masts area finishing down to the quarry. The junior course covers the first out-and-back section and turns at the masts area.
Route is fully marked and GPS is not allowed. The published difficulty places the event in a moderate category for terrain and ascent. Mandatory kit is Level A basic, specifically a showerproof, windproof jacket. Organisers will confirm the actual kit to be carried on the day according to conditions; random kit checks may be carried out and lack of required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.
There is no on-site car parking at the race location; participants are encouraged to use public transport, cycle, or run. Public carparks at Fernhill and Ticknock are available with a walk or run to registration at The Blue Light. Prizes are to be confirmed and have been suggested to include vouchers or a tray of shortbread. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
