About the race
The Spring Fling Race Series takes place on April 4, 2027 at Lady Bird Johnson Trail Park in Waco, Texas. The event includes in-person running races and a virtual race, with a variety of distances and participant categories. Distances and event types include: - Kids Dash : 50 m - 1 Mile Run : 1 mile - 5K Run : 3.11 miles, chip timed - 10K Run : 6.55 miles - Volunteer then Run 5K : 3.11 miles, chip timed - Virtual Run : 13.1 miles Event amenities listed by the organizer include finisher medals, race t-shirts, aid stations on course, on-site snacks and refreshments, a live DJ, finish line announcements, and a live awards celebration. Age group awards are offered for the 5K and 10K with overall and masters recognitions; age categories extend from 10 and under up to 70 plus. Volunteer roles are described with several position types such as water station, course monitors, finish line helper, sweeper, packet pickup, floater, lead bike, and mascot.
A Volunteer then Run option allows volunteers to run a chip-timed 5K and is limited to the first five volunteers. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 digital gift card. Additional notes: shirt guarantee is ten days before race day, races proceed in any weather, and course surfaces include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths.
