Spring Fling - Austin
The Spring Fling - Austin is a multi-distance running event organized by the Bigfoot Running Company. Held at East Metro Park in Manor, Texas, the event features several race options on a course consisting of mixed surfaces, including pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. The event is conducted in public park spaces, and participants may share the routes with other park users.
The event offers the following distances:
- Kids Dash (50m for ages 10 and under)
- 1 Mile Run
- 5K Run (3.11 miles)
- 10K Run (6.55 miles)
- Virtual Run (13.1 miles)
The 5K and 10K races are chip-timed, while the Kids Dash and 1 Mile Run are not timed. Top finishers in the 5K and 10K categories are eligible for awards, including trophies for the first overall male and female runners and recognition pins for the first masters finishers aged 40 and over. Age group awards are also provided in various categories ranging from 10 and under to 70 and older.
Participants receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt, with shirt availability guaranteed for those registered at least 10 days before the event. The race atmosphere includes a live DJ and announcements at the finish line. Aid stations are located along the courses, and refreshments are provided at the race rally tent near the finish.
