Big Dog's Backyard Ultra
Big Dog's Backyard Ultra is scheduled for October 17, 2026 in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. The event is a Last Man Standing race held as part of the World Backyard Ultra Team Championships, with sites convening around the world on the same weekend.
All participants in the championships will have qualified by winning silver ticket events or by placing among the top At Large performers in their nation over the previous two years. The United States team will include the top 15 qualified American athletes who are citizens or permanent residents.
The qualifying period closes on August 15, 2026. Results are to be entered within a week of that date, at which point the At Large list will be final and qualified athletes will be accepted. Athletes who won silver tickets are accepted at this time. Organizers will confirm intentions with any qualified athletes who do not apply so places can be offered to alternates.
As the qualifying window narrows, places may be offered to At Large athletes who have accumulated sufficient hours or yards. At this time applications from athletes who have equaled or exceeded 100 hours will be considered. Registration for the event closes on September 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM CT.
