Big Dog's Backyard Ultra: World Backyard Ultra Team Championships
Big Dog's Backyard Ultra takes place on October 17, 2026 at the Big Farm-Short Creek in Bell Buckle, TN. The event is held in a Last Man Standing backyard ultra format as part of the World Backyard Ultra Team Championships on the third Saturday in October.
All participants in the team championships must qualify. Qualification is by winning designated silver ticket events or by ranking among the top At-Large performers in their nation over the previous two years. The United States team will be made up of the top 15 qualified American athletes who are citizens or permanent residents.
The official qualifying period closes on August 15, 2026. Results from qualifying events are to be entered within a week of that date, at which point the At-Large list will be finalized and qualified athletes accepted. All athletes who have won silver tickets will be accepted at this time. Event organizers will confirm intentions of qualified athletes who have not applied in order to offer places to alternates as needed. Organizers may also make places available to At-Large athletes who have accumulated a large number of yards; at this time they will accept applications from athletes who have equaled or exceeded 100 hours.
