Big Dog Heatwave 5 Miler
This is a point to point five mile road race in Columbus, Georgia on July 18, 2026. The course begins at Lake Oliver Marina at 5501 River Road and finishes at Big Dog Uptown on 11th Street with a finish area at 12 W 11th Street. Organizers note that there will not be buses to transport participants to the start or finish; they suggest parking near the finish and using one car to reach the start.
Registration opens on January 1, 2026 and closes on July 3, 2026. Early registration fee is $30 through July 3 and the price increases to $40 for registrations from July 4 through July 17. There is no race day registration. The event is part of the CRR Summer Series; those already registered for the Summer Series do not need to register for this individual race.
Packet pick up is at Big Dog Fleet Feet at 12 W 11th Street on Friday, July 17 from 12 - 6 PM only. To be guaranteed a race shirt, registration must be completed by July 10 at 12 noon.
Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and 1st Masters. Age group awards are offered for under 14, 15 to 19, and in ten year age groups up to 70 plus, with male and female categories.
