Event Overview

The Big Bend Ultra is an annual trail running event held in the remote landscape of Terlingua, Texas. Originally established in 2004, the race takes place near Big Bend national and state parks, an area encompassing over 300,000 acres. This region is noted for its isolation and minimal light pollution, being recognized for having the lowest light pollution of any park in the lower 48 states.

The event is organized by Trail Roots and utilizes a team of volunteers to manage the logistics of the race in a desert environment where water and fuel are scarce.
