The Bideford Duathlon
The event on 23 Aug 2026 takes place at The Quay, Bideford, North Devon. It is offered in individual, e bike and relay formats with run bike run distances as follows.
- Individual and relay: 5 km run, 25 km bike, 5 km run
- Individual e bike: 5 km run, 23 km bike, 5 km run
The transition area is at Bideford Quay Public Car Park. Registration will open at approximately 7.30am on race day and there is an option to register the evening before at the same location. Organisers state that all event profits are distributed to charities and other good causes.
The first run starts from the quay, crosses Bideford Old Bridge and follows the Tarka Trail toward Torrington to an Iron Bridge 2.5 km turnaround point, then returns to transition by the same route. The bike course follows local roads toward Torrington on the A386, with a left to Weare Gifford, past Torrington Golf Club, climbs and turns through School Lane, Station Hill, Rakeham Hill and Monkleigh, then joins the A388 and A368 back toward Bideford and the transition area at the far end of the quay. The second run returns across Bideford Old Bridge, passes Clarence Wharf carpark, enters Ethelwynn Close and follows the Tarka Trail toward Instow, with a halfway turnaround back to the finish.
