About the race
Bideford 10 Mile is an annual certified road race organised by Bideford Amateur Athletic Club. The event is licensed by RunEvents (license number 31760) and carries a Certificate of Course Accuracy. The race supports North Devon Hospice and entrants receive a bespoke medal and T-shirt for the 2026 edition. The course starts and finishes close to the Bideford AAC clubhouse and follows roads out from the town before returning along the Tarka Trail.
The route includes views of the Taw and Torridge estuary and passes through a tunnel. The course is described as moderately flat with three small inclines. Prize structure includes cash prizes for overall finishers (first to third), a cash bonus if the first man or woman sets a new course record (current records: male 49:57 set 2024, female 57:46 set 2018), category cash prizes and trophies through V75, with awards available at the prize presentation on race day. Entry is managed by RaceNation; the race has a capacity of 900 runners and online entry closes when capacity is reached.
Transfers must be completed by the stated deadline and entry fees are non-refundable. Race rules specify no walkers, a minimum average pace of 15 minutes per mile to meet the 2 hour 30 minute cut-off, no headphones, and no dogs or wheeled devices. Facilities include changing rooms and showers in the clubhouse, portable toilets, a baggage store (organisers are not responsible for loss), refreshments at the clubhouse, and nearby pay and display parking including Cattle Market (EX39 2QG) and Riverbank (EX39 2QS).
