Bideford 10 Miler
The Bideford 10 Miler is an officially measured 10 mile road and trail race with a Certificate of Course Accuracy 19/580 and RunEvents licencing. The route starts and finishes close to the Bideford Amateur Athletic Club clubhouse and takes in views of the Taw and Torridge estuary. The course heads out on roads and returns along the Tarka Trail, including a short tunnel section, and is generally moderately flat with a small number of inclines. Mile markers are provided and the final 800 metres are marked every 100 metres.
Water stations are positioned on the course at miles 3, 5 and 7, with bottled water supplied by a named provider. All finishers receive a medal and a T shirt; T shirt sizes are allocated from the original entry and exchanges can be made only after all finishers have been issued their shirts.
Cash prizes and trophies are awarded on the day and are payable only at the prize presentation. Prize structure includes cash for the top three men and women, a cash bonus for a new course record, category trophies from U20 to V75 and cash for category winners up to V75. Entry closes online on Friday 30 October 2026 or when the race reaches capacity of 900 runners. The event organisers require runners to be able to maintain approximately 15 minutes per mile or faster and enforce a 2 hour 30 minute cut off. Headphones are not permitted and dogs or wheeled devices are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
