Bideford 10 Miler
The Bideford 10 Mile is a measured road race that starts and finishes close to the Bideford Amateur Athletic Club clubhouse and takes in views of the Taw and Torridge estuary. The route heads out on roads and returns along the Tarka Trail, includes a short tunnel section, and is described as moderately flat with small inclines. The course holds a Certificate of Course Accuracy (19/580) and is marked in miles; the final 800 metres are marked every 100 metres. Water stations are provided at 3, 5 and 7 miles.
The event supports North Devon Hospice. All finishers receive a medal and a T shirt; T shirt sizes are allocated from the original entry and substitutions are managed after distribution. Prize money is awarded to the first three men and women, with additional category prizes through V75 and a cash bonus if the first man or woman breaks the course record (male 49:57, 2024; female 57:46, 2018). Cash prizes and trophies are available at the prize presentation on the day.
Entries close online on 30 October 2026 or when the field reaches capacity of 900 runners, with a limited on-day entry option. For safety and event rules, headphones, walkers, dogs and wheeled devices are not permitted; the race enforces a 2 hour 30 minute cut off and a required average pace of 15 minutes per mile or faster.
