bg26.2 and half marathon and bg6000
The event is held at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Kentucky and includes multiple race options on a USATF certified, Boston Marathon qualifying course. The course is a 13.1 mile loop that begins and ends at the ballpark and passes through downtown Bowling Green and the Western Kentucky University campus. Marathon runners complete the loop twice; half marathon runners complete one loop. The race operates as an open course with several coned lanes on University Blvd, Fairview Avenue, Kentucky Street, and Adams Street, and some side streets remain accessible to traffic.
All proceeds benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. All finishers receive a finisher's medal and post-race refreshments. Post-race stretches and massages are available. There are checkpoints on course: five for marathon runners and two for half marathon runners. Marathon entrants who complete only one loop will be recorded as DNF. A six hour time limit applies and marathon participants must maintain a 14:00 minute per mile pace or reach the halfway point within three hours.
The event follows RRCA guidance and does not permit strollers on course. Unauthorized bicycles are not permitted; official race cyclists wear orange vests. Bibs must be worn on the front and fully visible for timing and photo identification.
