The bg26.2 Marathon, half marathon, and bg6000 take place in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Course and Participation
The events start and finish at the Bowling Green Ballpark. This is an open course, meaning roads remain accessible to vehicles except for specific coned lanes on major boulevards. Participants must follow a "one-ear" policy if using headphones to remain aware of traffic. Strollers, dogs, and unauthorized cyclists are not permitted on the course.
The marathon and half marathon have a strict 6-hour time limit. Marathon participants must reach the halfway point within 3 hours or maintain a pace of 14:00 minutes per mile to ensure continued police and course support. The minimum age for the marathon is 16, while the half marathon requires participants to be at least 12 years old.
All finishers receive a medal and post-race refreshments. An expo, packet pick-up, and a pasta dinner for participants are held the day before the main races at the ballpark.
