Best in the West Triathlon Festival
Best in the West Triathlon Festival is a weekend multisport event held at Lewis Creek Park in Sweet Home, Oregon. The festival is scheduled for June 12-13, 2027 and is planned as the second weekend after Memorial Day in future years.
The festival offers a wide range of race formats and distances across swimming, cycling and running. Event options include:
- Half-Iron distance triathlon
- Olympic distance triathlon
- Sprint triathlon
- Super Sprint race
- Kids Splash and Dash
- Half marathon 13.1 miles
- 10K run
- 5K run
- Beer Mile Relay
- Open swims and bike rides
Multiple multisport variations are offered, including triathlon, paddle triathlon, duathlon, aqua bike and aquathon. There are division options such as collegiate, Clydesdale, Athena and paratriathlon. Youth rates apply automatically for athletes under 18. The festival notes ADA friendly features, including curb access ramps and an alternate run course and finish line access for athletes with disabilities.
The event includes community elements and themed features: a Wild West motif with cowboy hats and themed awards, a Saturday night beer cider and soda mile relay with an athlete social, post-race barbecue, beverage service and camping.
