Bergplaas Challenge 2026
The Bergplaas Challenge is an MTB and trail running event scheduled for 28 November 2026 at Libertas Guest Farm near Hoekwil, Wilderness in the Western Cape. This will be the fifth edition and takes place on farm property managed as an event venue.
Distances offered include:
- MTB: 15 km, 30 km, 40 km, 70 km
- Trail run: 7 km, 10 km
Riders compete in a CSA sanctioned race and must hold a current CSA membership or license. A temporary day license is available for those without a valid CSA membership. Minimum age limits apply per class, with younger age categories for shorter MTB distances and a minimum age for trail runs.
Published entry fees range from R150 for the 7 km trail run to R450 for the 70 km MTB, with intermediate fees for the other distances. A bike service station and bike wash will be available; the bike wash carries a suggested fee of R30 with proceeds to a local charity. Accommodation is available at the race village on Libertas Guest Farm.
The event date was set following a postponement due to a local Foot and Mouth outbreak and associated farm movement restrictions; previously submitted entries were carried over and refund options were offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
