Bennachie Hill Race
The Bennachie Hill Race, held near Oyne in Aberdeenshire, is a popular off-road challenge organized by Garioch Roadrunners and backed by Craigdon Mountain Sports. The senior race covers about 8.2 miles (13.1 km) with around 1,600 ft (500 m) of ascent, taking competitors over Bennachie’s tops—Oxen Craig, Craigshannoch and Mither Tap—and back via the Maiden’s Causeway. A junior race of roughly 5k for ages 13–17 offers about 150 m of ascent.
The route is all off-road and may change for forestry works. It’s fully chip-timed, with advance entries only, parking nearby, and transfers allowed. Entrants are advised that final instructions are emailed in the week of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
