Bengal Triathlon : Pocatello, Idaho (April 18–19, 2026)
The Bengal Triathlon is a multi-discipline event hosted at Idaho State University Reed Gym in Pocatello on April 18–19, 2026. Race formats offered include triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon and a standalone 5K run. The triathlon format uses a pool swim followed by a bike and a run; swim times are used to seed a time trial sendoff into the bike and run segments.
Distances and formats
- Triathlon: 700-yard pool swim (28 lengths in a 25-yard pool), 13-mile bike, 5K run
- Duathlon: bike and 5K run using the same bike distance as the triathlon
- Aquabike: pool swim and 13-mile bike
- Aquathlon: pool swim and 5K run offered as a kids friendly option
- 5K: 5K run only
Swim sessions are scheduled at multiple Idaho locations during the week of the event, with the Pocatello pool serving local participants. Satellite swim locations include Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Lava Hot Springs, Rexburg and Boise; some satellite facilities may charge an additional pool fee.
The event includes individual and relay entries. Example entry fees published by the organizer include $80 for most individual multisport events, $40 for the 5K, $200 for a triathlon relay and $140 for a duathlon relay. The event is managed as a capstone activity for sport management students at Idaho State University under a USA Triathlon certified race director.
Safety and policies note that parts of the course are open to traffic and that children under 14 must be supervised by a parent or guardian throughout the race, including adult accompaniment on the bike course. Refunds are not offered but registration transfers are permitted up to three weeks before the event. Race apparel may not be available in kids sizes.
