Over the Top Trail Race, Pocatello ID
The Over the Top Trail Race is set for May 8, 2027 in Pocatello, Idaho, on the City Creek Trail System. The event uses extensive singletrack close to town that features scenic overlooks, wildflowers, cacti, gentle rolling climbs, and flowing switchbacks.
Multiple distance options are offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- Trail Half Marathon
- 30K
Organizers revised distances and routes for 2027. Short loops were adjusted into the 5K and 10K. The longer courses were changed from a 10 plus mile and 25K format into a true trail half marathon and a 30K loop. The two longer races now go up "Under the Top" counterclockwise first and then go "Over the Top" clockwise second. Organizers describe the half marathon as very challenging and "slightly fat," and note the 30K includes late-race hill climbs.
Event policies include allowance for roll-overs but no bib transfers. Early bib and bag pick up is listed for the day before the race at Centennial Park. The Pocatello Running Club organizes the race; the club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America and focuses on promoting health, friendship, camaraderie, and training opportunities for runners.
