Over the Top Trail Race - Pocatello, ID
The Over the Top Trail Race is the ninth annual running event organized by the Pocatello Running Club on May 9, 2026 in Pocatello, Idaho. Races take place on singletrack in the City Creek Trail System, a network noted for scenic overlooks, wildflowers, cacti, rolling climbs and flowing switchbacks close to town.
Distance options listed for the event include:
- 30K
- Trail Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The 2026 edition features distance and route changes with an updated course map. Shorter loops were adjusted into measured 5K and 10K routes. The two longer races were revised into a true trail half marathon and a 30K loop; both longer courses go up "Under the Top" counterclockwise first and then go "Over the Top" clockwise second. Organizers note the half marathon is a very challenging and "slightly fat" route, and the 30K includes late-race hill climbs.
Logistics and policies include roll-overs allowed and no bib transfers. Early bib and bag pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026 at Centennial Park, and registration opens February 2, 2026.
