The 3 Islands Marathon Hebrides takes place on 19 July 2026. It is an officially measured and certified road marathon by Scottish Athletics, staged in the Outer Hebrides on the west coast of Scotland. The course covers the marathon distance across three islands, starting at Lochboisdale Marina on the Island of Gasay and finishing at the Dark Island Hotel on the Isle of Benbecula. A GPX route file is provided for the course. The solo entry event listed 100 total places and the event status is closed.
Format, categories and entry information
The event is run over four legs, each between 5.8 and 7 miles, with three changeover checkpoints. It can be entered as a Solo, a Pair, or as teams of 3 or 4. Community Teams are formed by random draw from individual entries that are not running the full distance; the draw takes place one week before race day and those teams compete in a separate prize category with no gender divisions. Solo prizes are awarded 1st to 3rd for male and female, plus veteran categories. There is no traditional club team prize for the first three from the same club. The race has a six hour cut-off; entries with longer predicted finish times may be subject to a different start arrangement. Entry pricing examples include individual discounted and standard rates of £28 and £30, team-of-4 rates of £118 and £120, team-of-3 rates of £88 and £90, and pair rates of £58 and £60. A service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies to sign-ups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
