About the race
The 3 Islands Marathon Hebrides is an officially measured and certified Scottish Athletics road marathon held in the Outer Hebrides on the west coast of Scotland. The course starts at Lochboisdale Marina on the Island of Gasay and finishes at the Dark Island Hotel on the Isle of Benbecula. The event can be entered as a solo runner, a pair, or as teams of three or four, with changeovers at three checkpoints.
- Four legs, each between 5.8 miles and 7 miles
There is a Community Teams category made up from individual entrants who do not run the full distance. Names entered in the individual category can be drawn at random to form these teams; the draw takes place one week before race day and entrants do not have to be local. Community Teams have their own prize category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams and do not use gender categories.
Solo entries have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female, plus veteran categories. Pairs and teams of three or four have Male, Female and Mixed categories with first place prizes only. The event notes that places available are counted as pairs or teams; for example, 30 pairs/teams equates to approximately 100 individual entries.
Entry options include discounted pricing until 31/01/2027. Refund policies differ by entry type with partial refunds available before 31/03/2027 and no refunds after the stated cutoff dates. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
