Event Overview
The Benarty Hill Race is a midweek hill running event organized by the Lomond Hill Runners. This race features a distance of 7.93 km and includes a total of 370 m of ascent. The course is characterized by two primary climbs with sections of fast running in between, concluding with a descent typical of the local terrain. Participants can observe views across Fife and Perthshire throughout the route.
Location and Course
The event starts and finishes at RSPB Loch Leven. This location is situated near the M90, making it accessible for those traveling by vehicle. For every participant, a portion of the entry fee is donated directly to the RSPB Loch Leven facility. While the organizers accept no responsibility for lost clothing or equipment, the designated car park is located near the start and finish area for easy access to gear.
Equipment and Safety
In accordance with Scottish Hill Runners insurance requirements, participants are expected to carry standard safety kit, including a map and compass. The course is exposed and potential weather conditions in June may cause disorientation at higher elevations. To assist with navigation, marshals are stationed at key locations along the route, and some waymarking is provided.
Registration Details
The race has a total capacity of 150 participants. Entries for this event are non-refundable. In the event that the race cannot take place on the scheduled date due to external factors, the organizers will reschedule the event and carry entries forward to the new date.
