Ben Chonzie Hill Race

The Ben Chonzie Hill Race takes place on Saturday 18 April 2026 at Comrie Croft in Perthshire (PH7 4JZ). The course for 2026 covers 22.9 km with approximately 1435 m of ascent and follows a new route that climbs to Ben Chonzie, descends to Loch Turret, then climbs to Carn Chois before returning to the finish. Organisers mark a recommended fastest and safest line but competitors must visit all six checkpoints: Carn Chois NN79151 27742, Meall na Seide NN77883 28685, Ben Chonzie NN77303 30860, Bealach NN78027 31700, Water crossing NN79587 29690, Carn Chois NN79151 27742.

Entry information notes an entry fee of £15 and a race limit of 300 competitors; entry on the day is permitted if spaces remain. A junior race will be held; details of route, age categories and prizes are to be confirmed. The event includes post-race refreshments with hot food, drinks and homebaking.

Transport and facilities include direct buses from Perth and from Stirling via Crieff, and parking at Comrie Croft where a £3 parking charge is payable on arrival. Prize categories include first three male and female, and first in MV40/FV40, MV50/FV50 and MV60/FV60. Surplus proceeds from the race are used to support junior hill running in Scotland. The race start is at the waterfall about a five minute walk from Comrie Croft (NN79537 23318). The Key Cobbler is the event sponsor and will attend to showcase Vibram soles.
