Behind the Rocks Ultra - Moab
Behind the Rocks Ultra takes place in Moab, Utah on April 3, 2027. It is the final event in the Triple Crown of Moab and part of the Run Moab Series. The event offers multiple distances:
- 10 Mile
- 30K
- 50K
- 50 Mile
The race starts and finishes at the Behind the Rocks Trail along the border of the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area. The course passes tall Navajo Sandstone domes and fins and moves through remote desert terrain. Surfaces include smooth double track, sandy washes, technical doubletrack, and singletrack. The 50 mile course includes technical down climbs and rim running with views of arches and rock formations. The finish area sits below the La Sal Mountain Range.
Aid stations are cup-less; runners must use a reusable cup. Water dispensers are located at the start/finish and at every aid station for filling bladders, bottles, and reusable cups. Water carry requirements and other runner requirements are documented in the race guide and FAQ. Course data for each distance lists lowest and highest elevations and total elevation gain and loss for planning purposes.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race and at the start/finish on race day. Portable toilets and on-course aid will be provided. All participants receive a custom race shirt, a technical trucker hat, and a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
