The course moves across desert terrain that includes smooth double track, sandy washes, technical doubletrack, slickrock, and singletrack. Sections include rim running, technical down climbs, steep ledges that may require using hands, and features named on the course such as Jackson's Ladder and Jackson's Hole. Much of the route passes remote backcountry with limited or sporadic cell service.

Elevation details by distance are published for the course: the 50 Mile reaches about 5545 feet with roughly 6,788 feet of elevation gain; the 50K reaches about 5,545 feet with about 3,832 feet of gain; the 30K ranges near 5,561 feet with about 1,690 feet of gain; the 10 Mile reaches about 5,548 feet with about 886 feet of gain.

Aid stations include water-only locations supported by Dan Mick Jeep Tours for supply transport. The event is cup-less; runners refill bladders, bottles, or reusable cups at water dispensers placed at the start/finish and at aid stations. Free participant camping is available at the Mad Moose Base Camp near the start/finish. Packet pickup occurs at the start/finish area the day before the race and on race morning; the race provides a race guide with detailed maps and rules. Runners receive a custom race shirt, a BOCO Gear technical trucker, and a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
