Behind the Rocks Ultra
Behind the Rocks Ultra is a trail running event in Moab, Utah, scheduled for April 3, 2027. It is the final event in the Triple Crown of Moab and part of the Run Moab series.
The race starts and finishes at the Behind the Rocks Trail along the border of the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area. The course passes tall Navajo Sandstone domes and fins and travels remote desert trails. Terrain includes smooth double track, sandy washes, technical doubletrack, and singletrack. The 50 mile route includes technical down climbs and rim running with views of arches and rock formations. The finish area sits below the La Sal Mountain Range.

Course statistics provided for each distance include lowest and highest elevations and total elevation gain and loss. Water carry requirements and aid station details are specified in the race guide and FAQ. The event is cup-less: runners must use a reusable cup; water dispensers are available at the start/finish and at every aid station.
Packet pickup takes place at the start/finish area on Friday and on race morning; check-in requires a photo ID. Free camping is available at the start/finish and at the Mad Moose Base Camp.
