The TFG Beer & Pudding Races
The TFG Beer & Pudding Races take place in the market town of Bakewell within the Peak District. The event features two waymarked trail running courses that prioritize scenic views and a variety of terrain. Both routes start and finish at the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 7 km with approximately 100 meters of total ascent.
- 13.5 km with approximately 260 meters of total ascent.
The courses climb out of Bakewell to offer views of the surrounding area before descending back toward the town. The routes utilize the Monsal Trail and paths alongside the River Wye. The longer distance includes an additional section through woodland before rejoining the shorter course.
The event utilizes a waved start approach where runners depart in small groups within ten-minute windows to ensure more space on the trails. Mandatory kit requirements apply to the long course, while short course participants are expected to wear clothing suitable for trail conditions.
Every participant must be 18 years or older. Upon completion of the run, finishers receive an award-winning beer and a Bakewell pudding at the event headquarters. The races are held under UK Athletics rules and are licensed by the Trail Running Association. A portion of the entry fees is donated to local charities and businesses in the Peak District.
