About the race
The Beechworth Beer Run on October 3, 2026 is a social trail running event held around Beechworth, Victoria, with a mix of point-to-point and loop courses based at Lake Sambell Caravan Park.
Course options include:
- 30 km point-to-point from Yackandandah Sport Park to Lake Sambell
- 15 km loop starting and finishing at Lake Sambell
- 5 km loop around Lake Sambell
- 2.5 km kids loop around Lake Sambell
The 30 km route follows the Indigo Epic Mountain Bike Trail for about 90% of the course, with the remainder on fast 4WD trail and will be bus-supported. The 15 km course uses the Pipeline Trail outward and the Indigo Trail on the return. The 5 km course passes Lake Sambell, the old mine, the Chinese Gardens and Sandy Beach. The kids event is a marshalled loop with a cordial-powered aid station and a unique finisher award.
The event is family focused and provides a post-event beverage: one free beer for entrants aged 18 or over and two cans of soft drink for entrants under 18. On-course provisions include an alcohol-free beer checkpoint and standard trail-run aid station supplies such as Tailwind Nutrition. Registration fees apply per event and the organiser’s refund policy requires cancellation before 1 September 2026 for a partial refund; no refunds after that date. Transfers to another participant on race day are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
