Beaver Stadium Run
The Beaver Stadium Run is an annual fundraising event for Special Olympics Pennsylvania held at Penn State University. The 2026 Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run, presented by Sheetz, is scheduled for April 26, 2026. More than 3,500 runners and walkers of all ages and abilities participate in the event.
The event offers two distance options:
- 5K run
- 2 mile family fun walk presented by Mount Nittany Health
The course begins in the vicinity of the Bryce Jordan Center on Curtin Road, moves through Penn State’s campus, and concludes with participants passing through the Beaver Stadium tunnel and finishing on the stadium field at the fifty yard line. The Run takes place rain or shine.
Proceeds from the event benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania and the 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities served by the organization. The 2025 Run raised more than $500,000 for Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes.
Event policies note that strollers and pets are not allowed inside Beaver Stadium; strollers must be parked in a designated area near the tunnel entrance and parents must sign an event waiver for children under 10. Participants running with pets are asked to stop before entering the tunnel onto the field. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
