Beaver Stadium Run
The Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania takes place at Penn State University on April 26, 2026. Each year more than 3,500 runners and walkers of all ages and abilities take part in a 5K run or a 2-mile family fun walk. The overall event is presented by Sheetz and the 2-mile walk is presented by Mount Nittany Health.
Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania and support about 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The 2025 event raised more than $500,000 for Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes.
The entire course is on the Penn State campus. The start is on Curtin Road at the entrance to the All Sports Museum; the routes follow campus roads and paths and enter Beaver Stadium through the tunnel, finishing at the 50-yard line with approval from university athletics and relations.

Logistics include early packet pickup at Medlar Field in the days before the event and on race day at Medlar Field. Registration options include in-person and virtual participation. Strollers and pets are not allowed inside Beaver Stadium; strollers must be parked in a designated area on Curtin Road and parents of children under ten must sign a waiver. Medals are awarded to the top three men and top three women ages 15 and up and to first place boys and girls ages 14 and under.
