20th Annual Beaufort River Swim and 5K Run
This event offers open-water swims and a shore-based 5K run on the Beaufort River in Beaufort, South Carolina. Swim courses follow the estuary and finish at the day dock adjacent to Beaufort Waterfront Park. The longer swim follows the river with the tide for approximately 3.2 miles; the shorter swim shares the same path beginning at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital dock. Large yellow buoys mark the route and event safety personnel on stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and lifeguards monitor the finish area. Water temperature is typically in the mid 70s and surface conditions can range from calm to choppy.
