24th Annual Beat the Heat 5K
The Franklin Regional Soccer Boosters organize the 24th Annual Beat the Heat 5K on August 22, 2026 at Murrysville Community Park, 4056 Wiestertown Road, Murrysville, PA. The event is open to runners and walkers and offers community fundraising in support of local youth soccer and adaptive sport programs.

Proceeds benefit Franklin Regional High School and Middle School boys and girls soccer programs, with a portion also supporting the Rotary Miracle Sports Complex and the Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania.
Registration details include an early online fee of $25 plus processing and taxes for each 5K event; online registration guarantees a t-shirt only if completed by August 9. Race day registration is accepted for a $30 fee; organizers ask race day registrants to arrive early to complete registration.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event at Franklin Regional High School back entrance from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm; each packet includes a bib, timing chip attached to the bib, and a t-shirt. Bibs and timing chips do not need to be returned.
There is ample parking in Murrysville Community Park and staff will direct vehicles. Wiestertown Road will close prior to the event, so late arrivals may be unable to enter.
Awards are presented for overall and master winners, and by age groups for runners; walkers receive top male and female awards. Random prize drawings will follow awards; winners must be present to claim prizes.
Timing and scoring are provided by Runner's High and results will be posted online. The event notes that cancellations due to mandated guidelines may result in no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
