24th Annual Beat the Heat 5K

Franklin Regional Soccer Boosters present the 24th Annual Beat the Heat 5K on August 22, 2026, at Murrysville Community Park, 4056 Wiestertown Road, Murrysville, PA. The event is a community run and walk open to participants of all ages. Proceeds support Franklin Regional High School and Middle School boys and girls soccer programs, with a portion benefiting the Rotary Miracle Sports Complex and the Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania.

Registration information notes a standard online fee listed as $25 plus processing and taxes, and a race day registration fee of $30. Souvenir t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations completed after midnight on August 5. Bibs, timing chips, and t-shirts are available for pickup the day before the race on Friday, August 21 between 6 pm and 8 pm at Franklin Regional High School back entrance; the timing chip is attached to the back of the bib and does not need to be returned.

There is ample parking at Murrysville Community Park and parking attendants will direct vehicles. Participants are advised to allow time to enter the park because Wiestertown Road will close prior to the race. Timing and scoring are provided by Runner's High and results will be posted at runhigh.com. Awards are given to top overall and master finishers, to age group placings for runners, and to top male and female walkers. Random-draw prizes will be given after awards; winners must be present to claim prizes. Sponsorship tiers are available to support event fundraising.
