Beat the Bird 5K and 10K
The Beat the Bird 5K and 10K is an annual running event taking place in Columbus, Georgia. This event is organized as part of the Columbus Roadrunner Holiday Series. Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The courses for both distances utilize a combination of local paved roads and the Rails to Trails paths. The event begins and concludes at Hardaway High School, located on College Drive.
The competition includes several award categories for both the 5 km and 10 km distances. Recognition is given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top masters male and female. Age group awards are also distributed to the top three finishers in groups ranging from 14 and under to 70 and older.
All registered participants receive a finisher medal. Those who complete their registration by the mid-November deadline are guaranteed an event shirt. Packet pickup is held on the day prior to the race at a local running store on West 11th Street; there is no packet pickup available on the day of the event.
