Beast of Big Creek
Beast of Big Creek is a trail running event held in Hoodsport, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula at Big Creek Campground. The event spans August 1 - 2, 2026 and offers limited weekend camping at the start and finish location.
The event offers two race options:
- 22 km / 14 miles Skyrace to Mt. Ellinor summit
- 8 km / 5 miles Forest Loop through nearby trails
The Skyrace includes a climb of over 5,300 ft to the summit of Mt. Ellinor and a long descent on the return. The Forest Loop includes about 1,200 ft of climbing and runs through temperate rainforest terrain with streams and several wooden bridges.
The event is part of international and national series and qualification programs. It is a stop on the Skyrunner World Series and is the series only stop in North America. It is also part of the USA Skyrunner National Series, remains a qualifier in the Vert Running Series, and awards UTMB Index points.
