Beast of Big Creek, Hoodsport, WA
Beast of Big Creek is a mountain trail running event on Mount Ellinor above Lake Cushman near Hoodsport on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. The race has a seventeen year history of running steep trails to the summit of Mount Ellinor.
The 2026 edition takes place 1 and 2 August and includes two race options.
- Skyrace: 24 km / 15 miles, Vert 1,600 m / 5,300 ft.
- Forest Loop: 10 km / 6 miles, Vert 365 m / 1,200 ft.
The Skyrace is part of the Skyrunner World Series and is noted as North America’s only stop in that series. The event is also included in the USA Skyrunner National Series and is part of the Trail Tracks Network. Rock Candy Running organizes the event and is inviting Skyrunner World Series athletes to the 2026 edition.
Entry fees listed for 2026 are $120 plus platform fees for the Skyrace and $60 plus platform fees for the Forest Loop. A limited number of entries are available for each race and price increases may occur prior to registration closing.
