Bear Lake Trifecta Marathon : event overview
The Bear Lake Trifecta Marathon is a series of races held across three states over three days in early June around the Bear Lake Valley. Participants may enter the full Trifecta (all three marathon events) or choose different distances on each day, including:
- Full marathon
- Half marathon
- 5K (offered at the Utah race)
Courses highlight local scenery: the Wyoming and Idaho routes feature mountain and clear water views, while the Utah course runs along the blue waters of Bear Lake. Course maps are provided for each race.
Packet pick-up is organized at host locations across the region, including Sunrise Resort in Garden City, the Hideout Motel in Cokeville, Epic North Beach in St Charles, and Bear Lake State Park - Rendezvous Beach in Laketown.
On-course support includes 12 aid stations for the marathons and 6 for the half marathons, stocked with energy gels, sports drink, water, and cola at the last two stations. Each race finisher receives a medal. Additional post-race provisions include food, music, and photo opportunities.
Swag varies by participation level: single-race participants receive a long sleeve T-shirt; two-race participants receive a shirt, pint glass, and rally towel; completing the full or half marathon Trifecta earns additional items including a souvenir beach blanket and an oversized Trifecta belt buckle. The 5K is not eligible for the beach blanket.
Registration for 2024 is simplified and applies discounts automatically for multi-race entries. Garden City, Utah serves as the primary lodging base and is approximately a one hour drive from the event venues. Bear Lake State Park offers campsites and RV hookups near the Utah course. Typical June weather ranges from lows in the 40s to highs in the mid 70s and can vary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
