Event Overview
The Bear Chase is a running event held in Bertha, Minnesota, with the finish line located in front of the Bertha-Hewitt School. The event offers two main distances that take place on separate schedules, allowing participants to choose a single race or complete both.
The available distances include:
- 1 Mile Run/Walk: A flat and fast course that is entirely paved.
- 5K Run: A fast route that features small rolling hills.
Logistics and Participation
Participants are transported to the respective starting lines via a shuttle bus departing from the local high school. For those opting for the double event, transportation is provided for each segment of the race. Online registration is available until early July, with a price increase and limited t-shirt availability for those who register after late June. Race day registration is also offered for a limited time during the morning of the event.
Recognition and Records
Awards are presented to the top male and female performers in both the 1 Mile and 5K distances. Additionally, ribbons are given to the top three finishers in each division for both races. The event maintains course records for individual races and the combined double performance. Preregistration by late June guarantees a participant t-shirt.
