The event is a qualifier for the Hardrock 100 and Western States 100. It is also a UTMB index race. Participation requires qualification via a prior official race. Runners must have completed a 50-mile race within 16 hours, or a 100K or longer race, within the four years before registration.

Additionally, runners are required to complete 8 hours of volunteer service, such as trail work or volunteering at an ultra, within a specified window before the race.
