Event overview

The Bear 100 is a point-to-point 100-mile ultramarathon held in 2026 between Logan, Utah and Bear Lake on the Utah-Idaho border. The 2026 race marks the event's 28th anniversary. The course passes through the Wasatch-Cache National Forest and the Bear River Range, with sections of pine, aspen, and red maple forest.

Entry and qualification

Entry for the 2026 race used a lottery process; the lottery was held on December 27, 2025, and registration closed on December 15, 2025. The race is a qualifier for Hardrock and Western States 100 events and is an UTMB index race. To be eligible to enter the Bear 100, runners must have completed a 50-mile race under 16 hours or any 100K, 100, or 200-mile race within the four-year qualifying window specified for the event. Qualifying results are verified from official race results sources. Runners are required to perform eight hours of service (trail work or volunteering at an ultra) within the specified service window for the event.

Fees and policies
