Beacon of the Valley’s 5K & 1 Mile Walk
The Beacon of the Valley event takes place at Hubbard High School, located at 350 Hall Ave in Hubbard, Ohio. This community-focused gathering features two distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 3.1 Miles (5k)
- 1 Mile
The event is organized to support a 501(c)(3) fund under the Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH. This foundation provides assistance to children aged 12 and under residing in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties in Ohio, as well as Mercer County in Pennsylvania. The organization collaborates with local groups and individual families to provide resources that help children in these specific regions.
Participants can register for the 3.1 Miles running race or the 1 Mile walking-only event. Registration remains open until the day before the event. The course is situated on the grounds of the local high school in Hubbard, providing a central location for residents of the tri-county area to participate. All proceeds and activities are directed toward supporting the mission of the Beacon of the Valley fund in its efforts to assist local youth.
