Event Overview
The BE FAST 5k Run & 1 Mile Walk is an event that honors stroke survivors and their family members. All proceeds from registrations, donations, and raffles go to The ProMedica Foundation Stroke Patient Assistance Fund. This fund supports stroke patients with costs like medications, medical equipment, supplies, transportation, and rent or utilities.
Location & Course
The event takes place in downtown Toledo at Promenade Park. The 5k course runs along the Maumee River front, across the Cherry Street Bridge, and through Glass City Metropark. A 1 mile walking route is also available.

Participants can choose from several activities:

- 1 Mile Walk
- Kids Fun Run (100 yard dash)
- Virtual 5k Registration is free for stroke survivors. General registration is $25 per participant until September 25, 2026, after which the price increases to $35.
What's Included
Registration includes entrance to the run or walk, a chip-timed bib, a BE FAST Stroke 5k T-shirt, snacks and drinks, a post-race meal, free stroke risk assessments, educational materials, and access to a community resource fair. There will also be activities like face painting and a DJ.
Awards & Fundraising
Awards include a $150 cash prize for the race winner, $100 cash prizes for the overall male and female runners, and $100 cash prizes for the overall masters (40+) male and female runners. Participant medals are given to all runners. Teams are encouraged for fundraising, with top teams recognized at the event.
Logistics
Parking is available at a garage adjacent to Promenade Park for a $3 fee. Handicap and reserved first-floor parking is free for cars with stroke survivors. Packet pickup is available at two locations on Thursday and Friday before the race, as well as on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
