About the race
Be Active OCR & Trailrun is an obstacle course race and trail run held at GeelKlip Middelwater Farm near Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa. The event offers adults and children a cross country style obstacle experience on natural terrain with mud and about 20 obstacles drawn from standard courses.
Entry categories include:
- Be Fun OCR 5 km
- Be Fun Trail Run 5 km
- Kids 2 km
The Open category is a roughly 5–6 km course with approximately 20 obstacles. Open qualification applies and no national federation affiliation or prior qualification is required. The Open is not subject to competition rules and participants may choose which obstacles to complete.
Children ages 6 and up are welcome; children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Finishers receive a medal, professional photos, free beer and event recognition.
Participants are advised to bring a towel and dry clothes and to carry cash for purchases on site. Outside food and drink are discouraged. Pets are allowed on the trail when properly identified. Recommended clothing is performance, water wicking apparel and comfortable training shoes that can get muddy.
