Thanksgiving Day 5 Miler : Race overview
The Thanksgiving Day 5 Miler is the 36th annual event presented by the Bucks County Road Runners. The program includes a main five mile race, a 5K and a one mile fun run held in Langhorne and surrounding Middletown Township, Pennsylvania. The event supports local charities including the Courier Times Give a Christmas campaign and Advocates for Homeless & Those in Need.
Race features include chip timing by runBUCKS using ChronoTrack B Chips that are attached to the back of race bibs, water stations located at registration, on course (approximately 1.5 and 3 miles) and at the finish line, and a long sleeve hooded race tech shirt for participants while supplies last. Free parking is available in the Summit Square office building lot west of the start and finish area.
Course summaries
- 5 Mile route runs from Summit Square through Middletown Township to Core Creek Park and back on a flat keyhole course.
- 5K is an out and back that follows the five mile route then turns onto Ellis Road with the turnaround about a quarter mile down Ellis Road.
- 1 Mile fun run starts at the same location, follows Summit Trace and Doublewoods Road to a nearby turnaround and returns.
Packet pickup is scheduled Saturday the 21st from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Peruzzi Nissan, 165 Lincoln Highway, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
