Bay Bridge Half and 5K, Oakland, California
The Bay Bridge Half Marathon and 5K is organized by Mascot Sports and scheduled for May 2, 2027. The event presents the first-ever Bay Bridge Half Marathon billed as the only half marathon to cross the Bay Bridge. The half marathon departs from West Oakland and proceeds toward the bridge path, continuing to Treasure Island with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the San Francisco skyline. On the return, the course passes Oakland cranes, townscape features, and rolling hills.
A new 5K returns in 2027 and runs through downtown Oakland. The 3.1 mile route starts at 3rd Street and Chestnut Street, turns onto Mandela Parkway, continues to 7th Street, and then heads back toward the finish-line festival. The weekend includes a finish-line festival for participants.
Participant items shown for previous editions include a finisher medal and a long sleeve participant shirt. Organizers note exclusive access to the new bridge and present the event with local partners such as Orangetheory, StretchLab, and Oakland Roots.
