Battle of the Branches 5K (Syracuse)
The third annual Battle of the Branches 5K takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the NY State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. This event is held in conjunction with the CNY Veterans Parade and Expo. Participants have the opportunity to represent one of the six branches of the United States military by joining a specific team for the race.
The event offers several individual registration categories:
- 5K (representative teams for Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Space Force)
- 5K Ruck Division
- Virtual 5K
All participants receive a custom event shirt and a finisher challenge coin. The course is located at 581 State Fair Blvd, with packet pickup available on the morning of the race at the Center of Progress Building.
The race serves as a fundraiser for Feed Our Vets, a nonprofit organization that provides support to United States military veterans and their families who are facing food insecurity. In addition to the race, a food drive is held during packet pickup and on race day to collect canned and non-perishable food items. Parking is available in the Brown Lot for the general public, while those who have served in one of the six military branches may use the Pink Lot.
