Battle of the Bean 5K Run/Walk
The Battle of the Bean 5K Run/Walk takes place on January 17, 2027 at Red Bridge Shopping Center in South Kansas City. The event is the 13th annual running of this community 5K and is held at 11128 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
Participants join either Team Coffee or Team Cocoa and may warm up with hot coffee and hot chocolate after the 5K. All in-person 5K participants receive a finisher medal and are eligible for overall and age-group awards.
There are multiple in-person registration options that include different race swag: a Medal Only option, a Medal plus Mug option, and a Medal plus Long Sleeve Shirt plus Mug option. A virtual 5K option is also offered; virtual participants do not attend packet pickup or the in-person race and will have their race swag mailed to them the day before the race.
Packet pickup is scheduled for January 16 at KC Running Company, 200 E. 135th St, Kansas City, MO 64145, from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. Packet pickup is also available on race morning beginning at 7:00 am. If a participant does not pick up a packet at either packet pickup or the race, a selected shirt size cannot be guaranteed after the event.
