Event overview
The Battle of the Bean 5K Run/Walk takes place on January 17, 2026 in Kansas City, MO at the Red Bridge Shopping Center area (11128 Holmes Road, 64131). This is the 12th annual edition. Participants may choose between Team Coffee or Team Cocoa. The event program includes the following distances and formats:
- 5K run/walk
- Jelly Bean Dash (kids 8 and under)
- 5K virtual race
5K participants receive a finishers medal and will be eligible for age group and overall awards. The Jelly Bean Dash entry includes a race t-shirt and a finishers medal. Event prices listed on registration are $31 for the 5K, $12 for the kids dash, and $45 for the virtual 5K.
Logistics and partners
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, January 16 at the Running Well Store, 200 E. 135th Street in Martin City. Registrants may pick up their own packet and the packets of other registrants; medals can be requested at packet pickup if a participant cannot attend the race. The organizers advise parking in the back parts of the Red Bridge Shopping Center lots to leave space for customers of open shops and restaurants. Registration fees are non-refundable.
