Battle Day 5K Road Race
The Battle Day Road Race is an annual event sponsored by the Friends of the Monument that commemorates the Battle of Bennington of August 16, 1777. The event takes place at the Bennington Battle Monument in Old Bennington, Vermont.
The main distance is a mostly flat (by Vermont standards) out-and-back 5K course that begins and ends at the Monument. A separate 1/2 mile Kids Fun Run circles the Monument. The 5K traditionally begins with the firing of a musket.
This run is not timed; participants are recorded as part of a community celebration whether running or walking. There is no day-of-race registration. Shirt pickup is available before the race at the Monument.
Both runners and walkers are welcome. Dogs and strollers are strongly discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
