Bath & Bristol Railway Races - Spring 2027
The Bath & Bristol Railway Races follow the route of the original train line from Green Park Station in Bath to Bristol Temple Meads. The route is described as the flattest in the organiser's calendar and is 100% tarmac, offering a road race like experience through green countryside into the heart of Bristol.
The original railway was in use from 1869 to 1971. Between 1979 and 1986 Sustrans converted the railway path into the first route on the National Cycle Network. Along the course runners pass restored signal boxes and stations at Warmley and Mangotsfield. The Avon Valley Railway is an active heritage line that runs alongside parts of the route.
The Half Marathon is an out and back to Bitton Train Station, with about 2.5 km in each direction running alongside the Avon Valley Railway. The 25 km, Marathon and 50 km routes also run alongside the Avon Valley Railway station at Bitton and continue onwards to Bristol.
Location: Green Park, Bath, BA1 1HZ. Ticket sales close 2 April 2027. Tickets for this event are currently sold out. Organiser: Relish The Great Outdoors, which organises running events in locations in the South West of England.
