brainstrust Bass Belle 10km, 21 June 2026
The brainstrust Bass Belle 10km is a chip-timed road and off-road race held in South Cambridgeshire that passes through the villages of Bassingbourn and Litlington. The course is largely flat and described as "pancake" terrain. It covers 10 km in total, with 7.5 km on road and 2.5 km off road along a grass track. Part of the route crosses private land, so entry to the event is required to complete the course.
The event is limited to 325 places, creating a smaller field that allows runners to get off the start line quickly and establish pacing. It is open to club and social runners; participants must be aged 15 or over with no upper age limit. Dogs, buggies and guides are permitted. A time limit of 1 hour 45 minutes applies for finishing the course.
Race administration includes race packs sent by post, a bespoke finisher medal, water on course and additional post-race goodies. There are category trophies including an under 18 award and a trophy for the highest fundraiser. Cash prizes are offered for beating the course records, currently 34.51 for men and 37.24 for women. Food stalls and a cake stall at the finish are listed as to be confirmed.
Two entry routes are offered: paid entry with proceeds to brainstrust, and free fundraiser entry with a minimum fundraising target of £100, which includes a charity t-shirt or vest and a fundraising pack. Entry status for this edition is closed and a waiting list is operated by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
