Event Overview
The Basildon Aquathlon takes place on Sunday, 22 March 2026 at the Basildon Sporting Village. The event consists of a 400m swim followed by a 5km run.
Course Details
The swim is 16 lengths of a 25m pool, swum in a 'snake' style across lanes. The transition area is located directly outside the pool. The run is a two-lap course through Gloucester Park, starting and finishing on the athletics track at the stadium.
Entry Information
The entry fee is £35, with a reduced rate of £30 for entries made before 31 January 2026. Participants who are not members of a British Triathlon Home Nation require a Race Pass, which costs £2 for those aged 24 and under, or £8 for others. Registration begins around 1pm, with the race starting around 14:00. Entries can be made online.
Additional Information
The event has a minimum age of 15. Age categories are calculated as of 31 December in the race year. Categories are offered for Female and Open participants across all age groups. Trophies are awarded in the open and veteran categories. Withdrawals are accepted up to 14 days before the event, with a refund of the entry fee minus a £5 administration charge.
