Barn Creek Backyard Ultra - Jamestown, TN
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra held on private property adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The course is an out-and-back loop of 4.167 miles that starts at r3 motoworx and crosses Barn Creek via a bridge. Terrain includes gravel, road, and trail, with less than 300 feet of elevation gain per loop.
A main aid station is located next to the start and finish corral. Warm food, water, other drinks, and port-a-potty bathrooms are provided. Runners may set up tents along the start corral; crew and runner vehicles are not allowed in the tent area after setup. Camp sites and RV sites can be reserved; there are 12 full RV hookups and 10 water-only campsites. Tent camping is free. Full sites are listed at $30 per day and water-only sites at $10 per day.
Race rules follow standard backyard ultra guidelines: competitors may not leave the course except for restrooms until each loop is complete; no non-competitors are allowed on the course; no personal aid during a loop; each loop must be completed within an hour to count including the final lap; no artificial aids such as trekking poles; slower runners must allow passes. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; if no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.
All runners who complete 100 miles receive a belt buckle. Registration closes Thu, Nov 5 @ 11:59 PM CT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
