Event overview
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra held in Jamestown, TN on November 7, 2025. The course is a 4.167 mile out-and-back loop that starts at r3 motoworx and runs through private woods adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The loop crosses Barn Creek via a bridge and has a mix of gravel, road, and trail surfaces with under 300 feet of elevation gain.
Course, rules and logistics
The event follows official backyard ultra rules. Each loop must be completed within an hour to count. Competitors may not leave the course during a loop except for restroom use. No non-competitors are allowed on the course, no personal aid is allowed during a loop, and no artificial aids are permitted. The final winner is the last person to complete a loop; all others are recorded as DNF with results reported by distance covered.
Aid is centered at the start/finish corral. Runners may set up tents along the corral; crew vehicles are not allowed in the tent area after setup. Warm food, water, drinks, and port-a-potties will be available. All runners who complete 100 miles receive a belt buckle. Past participation stats (2023) include:
