Course and Format

The Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a "Last Man Standing" race on a 4.167-mile loop course in Jamestown, Tennessee. The loop is an out-and-back route starting near Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The terrain is a mix of gravel, road, and trail, with less than 300 feet of elevation gain per loop. The course crosses Barn Creek via a bridge and primarily uses private property.

The event follows standard Backyard Ultra rules. All loops start on the hour. A runner must finish each loop within the hour to continue. The winner is the last runner to complete a loop. All other participants receive a result for the total distance covered.

A main aid station is located next to the start corral. It provides warm food, water, drinks, and portable toilets. Runners may set up a personal tent in the start/finish area. No crew vehicles are allowed in this area during the race. For more space, reservable RV sites and water-only campsites are available nearby.
