Event
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra held in Jamestown, TN on November 6, 2026. The course is a 4.167 mile out-and-back that starts at r3 motoworx and runs through woods on private property adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The route crosses Barn Creek via a bridge and includes a mix of gravel, road, and trail surfaces with under 300 feet of elevation gain.
Format and rules
The event follows official backyard ultra guidelines. Each loop must be completed within an hour to count. Competitors may not leave the course during a loop except to use restrooms. No non-competitors are allowed on the course, and no personal aid is permitted during a loop. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are not allowed. Slower runners must allow passes. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; if no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner. Results record the distance covered by each runner.
Aid, camping and facilities
Runners may set up a tent along the start/finish corral; crew vehicles are not allowed in the crew tent area after setup. The main aid station is next to the start corral and will offer warm food, water, drinks, and port-a-potties. RV and campsite reservations are available: 12 full RV hookups, 10 water-only sites, and free tent camping.
Awards and participation stats
Runners who complete 100 miles receive a belt buckle. In the inaugural year, 83% of starters finished at least 50K, 50% finished 100K, and 28% finished 100+ miles; five of 18 runners in 2023 ran 100+ miles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
