Barn Creek Backyard Ultra - Jamestown, TN
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra held at 1641 Les Franklin Rd S in Jamestown, Tennessee. The event uses an out-and-back loop of 4.167 miles that starts at r3 motoworx and runs through private woods adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The course crosses Barn Creek via a bridge and combines gravel, road, and trail surfaces with under 300 feet of elevation gain.
The event follows official backyard ultra rules: runners may not leave the course during a loop except for restrooms, no non-competitors are allowed on the course, no personal aid is permitted during a loop, each loop must be completed within an hour including the final lap, artificial aids such as trekking poles are prohibited, slower runners must allow passes, and the last person to complete a loop is the winner. If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.
Aid is organized next to the start/finish corral. Runners may set up tents along the corral and crew vehicles are not allowed in the tent area after setup. Warm food, water, drinks, and port-a-potties will be available. The race is cup-less; each participant receives a reusable speed cup at packet pickup.
Awards include a belt buckle for runners who complete 100 miles. Camping options include 12 full RV hookups, 10 water only sites, and free tent camping with separate fees for RV sites. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
