Barn Creek Backyard Ultra
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra held at 1641 Les Franklin Rd S in Jamestown, Tennessee. The event is a Bronze Coin Race and is linked to the 2026/2027 Capital Backyard Ultra in Lorton, VA.
The course is a 4.167 mile out and back that begins at r3 motoworx and runs through woods on private property. The route crosses Barn Creek on a bridge and sits adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. Terrain includes gravel, road, and trail with under 300 feet of elevation gain.
The event follows official backyard ultra rules. Competitors must complete each loop to leave the course except for restroom breaks. Non-competitors are not allowed on the course, personal aid during a loop is not permitted, artificial aids including trekking poles are prohibited, and each loop must be completed within an hour to count. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; other runners are recorded by distance covered.
The main aid station is next to the start corral and offers warm food, water, drinks, and port-a-potties. Runners may set up a tent along the start corral; vehicles are not allowed in the crew tent area after setup. There are 12 full RV hookups ($30 per day), 10 water only campsites ($10 per day), and free tent camping.
All runners who complete 100 miles receive a belt buckle. In the inaugural year, 83% of starters finished at least a 50K, 50% finished 100K, and 28% went 100+ miles.
