Barn Creek Backyard Ultra
Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a backyard ultra event held in Jamestown, TN on private property adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The course is a 4.167 mile out and back loop that starts at r3 motoworx, crosses Barn Creek via a bridge, and uses a mix of gravel, road, and trail with under 300 feet of elevation gain.
Race rules follow official backyard ultra guidelines. Competitors may not leave the course except for restroom use. Non competitors are not allowed on the course, including eliminated runners. No personal aid is allowed during a loop. Each loop must be completed within one hour to count, including the final loop. Artificial aids such as trekking poles are not allowed. Slower runners must allow passes. The winner is the last person to complete a loop and all others are recorded as DNF. If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner. Results list each runner by distance covered.
The main aid station sits next to the start and finish corral. Runners may set up tents along the corral; crew vehicles are not allowed in that area after setup. Warm food, water, other drinks, and port a potties will be available. Twelve full RV hookups and ten water only campsites are available by reservation. Full sites are $30 per day, water only sites are $10 per day, and tent camping is free. All runners who complete 100 miles receive a belt buckle.
