Barkin' Mad Ultra 2026
Barkin' Mad Ultra 2026 is a two-day trail walk and run at Rokeby Recreation Reserve, Rokeby VIC, supporting Aus Hair of the Dog Rescue Inc. The event brings together runners and walkers with and without dogs and aims to raise funds for rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of dogs.

The event capacity is 400 participants and dogs. Entry fees vary by distance, from A$35 for the shortest walk up to A$275 for the 50 km race. The organiser reports fundraising targets above A$30,000 and notes A$18,000 raised in 2025.
Dog and participant rules are specified. Dogs must be on fixed leads for the entire course, wear identification, and carers must carry poo bags. Breed and age limits apply for longer races: certain brachycephalic breeds and dogs under one year are not permitted in the 20 km and 50 km events; other race-specific age limits are published. Mandatory human gear varies by distance and includes minimum fluid requirements, mobile phone, collapsible cup, snake bandage, and additional items for the 50 km race. Dogs must carry a lead or harness, poo bags, treats, and a collapsible water bowl.
The event features aid stations with water, sports nutrition, snacks, sun protection and dog treats, course markings, GPX maps for participants, sweepers on course, and cutoff times for each distance.
