Barkin' Mad Ultra 2026
Barkin' Mad Ultra 2026 is an ultrarunning and trail walking event held at Rokeby Recreation Reserve in Rokeby, Victoria. The event is organised by Aus Hair of the Dog Rescue Inc. to raise funds and awareness for dog rescue, sheltering and rehoming work in the Baw Baw Shire area. The event aims to raise more than $30,000 collectively from participants and supporters.
Distances offered include:
- 2 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 20 km
- 50 km and a 50 km team relay
The event welcomes humans with or without dogs. Dogs are subject to age and breed restrictions for longer distances; brachycephalic breeds and dogs younger than one year are not permitted in the 20 km and 50 km races. All dogs must be on a non retractable lead, wear identification, and owners must carry poo bags and dog supplies. Aid stations provide fluids, sports nutrition, snacks, sunscreen and dog treats, and dog crates are available at aid stations.
Mandatory gear varies by distance and includes minimum fluid capacity, mobile phone, collapsible cup and a snake bandage; additional items are required for longer distances. An adaptive runner category is available with classification options for vision or hearing impairment, neurological or physical impairment, and intellectual disability.
